In today’s world everyone raps right? Wrong! Chuck Macist is the artist, the instrumental is his canvas, life is his motivation and his mind is his paintbrush. No one who’s come across a record by Charles can honestly say that they weren’t entertained, able to relate or felt like a fiend who just couldn’t wait for the next package from Chuck to come in! The streets of Philadelphia is where Charles grew up. He was forced to adapt quickly to harsh surroundings and an unforgiving often unfriendly environment, he urgently learned to survive on his own in a concrete jungle. One way or another Chuck Macist is determined to make it, he doesn’t believe in the words can’t, or no. He’ll keep going until he’s where he deserves to be, he’s always looking to make his next move and hard work is something he’s not afraid of.
Currently Chuck holds a bachelors of Science degree in Business. He wants to know all there is to know about the business world he is entering. He gained the street knowledge; the book smarts and is furthering his book smarts by pursuing a Masters degree in Business. Macist knows that ignorance is not bliss but a handicap, and getting cut short is something he’ll never be!
By not being afraid of judgment Macist incorporates aspects of his life into the music he creates! His number one priority with each record is making sure it has the inspiration to touch someone, the energy to move them and the artistry to make sure they’re entertained!
"Life In The Struggle" is the record that introduced Macist to the mp3 players, ipods and stereo systems from Virginia up to New York City! His voice was loud and it was heard, now his fan base ranges all the way down to the Keys of Florida! Chuck doesn’t believe in handouts, his talent speaks for itself and he knows he has what it takes to make it as a mainstream artist in the music industries mainstream. For two years Macist interned for industry powerhouse, "Def Jam Records". His duties included leading a street team, hanging posters, taking lunch orders etc. He was often the first one in the door and the very last one out. Chuck did all of these things just to be closer to his dream, no job was beneath him and he had no problem getting down and dirty. It even got to the point where, if anything needed to be done, the first one called was Chuck. Not because he was a suck up, or a kiss ass, but because the staff knew he would get the job done the right way, the first time. And as we know, when it comes to the music business, you only get one shot!
Chuck Macist has graced stages bringing the art of Hip Hop to talent showcases, College Festivals, Fashion Shows and the Television Screen! He’s been the attention getting openings for fellow MC’s Styles P, Maino, Cuban Link and most recently, Juelz Santana! He has released four mix tapes and has one “EP” currently available for purchase on itunes!
